By linking your bank and credit card accounts, you can simplify bookkeeping and automatically categorize your income and expenses. This way, you'll be ready for tax time without having to spend hours sorting through your finances.
How to connect a bank or credit card account with LZ Books
To connect a bank account with LZ Books:
- Go to the Transactions tab under LZ Books inside your LZ account.
- Click the Connect Bank button. This will take you through the workflow to connect a bank or credit card account through our secure integration with Plaid, a financial technology platform.
- After completing all the steps and successfully integrating your bank account with LZ Books, you'll see all your bank transactions in a table format in the Transactions tab. This helps you easily review your incoming transactions to manage your bookkeeping.
Note:
- Not seeing your bank as an option through Plaid’s connection? We do have options to manually add transactions into LZ Books if this is something you would like to consider. Read our article about adding manual transactions.

How to add more than one bank or credit card account
If the additional account is from the same bank
- Click on the Transactions tab.
- Click on the Gear icon in the top right of the Connected account section.
- Click on the Three-dot ellipsis menu.
- Select Manage connection. You’ll log in to your bank, and you should be able to select the additional credit cards/accounts you want to add.
If the additional account is from another bank
- Click on the Gear icon in the top right of the Connected account section.
- Select the Add connection button and log in to the bank to connect the additional credit card(s)/accounts.
