Why should I purchase the Forms & eSign plan?

Our Forms & eSign plans give you access to a rich editor and eSignature.

Use our rich editor to personalize any LegalZoom form template easily. Edit the content, format, font, and colors. Add new text, tables, and images to tailor your document to your specific needs. 

Use eSignature to save time by quickly signing your documents online. Plus, with our simple drag-and-drop actions and secure cloud storage, you can easily sign documents with just a few clicks and have peace of mind knowing your documents are safely stored.

Do I need to purchase the Forms & eSign plan to download my document?

No, you can download your document for free. To do so, click on the More () icon on the top-right of the document editor and select Download.

Can I change my monthly Forms & eSign plan to annual?

Yes, you can change your Forms & eSign plan by contacting our support team at (800) 773-0888 Mon-Fri 5 a.m.-7 p.m. PT, Sat-Sun 7 a.m.-4 p.m. PT.

Will my Forms & eSign plan renew automatically?

Yes, our monthly and yearly Forms & eSign plans renew automatically. Renewal rates are subject to change. If you choose to change your Forms & eSign plan, your automatic renewal date will reset to the new subscription period from the date of your most recent purchase.

If I decide I no longer want my plan, can I cancel?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription before your renewal date by calling us at (800) 773-0888 Mon-Fri 5 a.m.-7 p.m. PT, Sat-Sun 7 a.m.-4 p.m. PT or emailing us at e-sign@legalzoom.com including the phrase “Cancel my Forms & eSign subscription”. Make sure to either send the email from the address associated with your LegalZoom account or include that email address in the body of the email itself.

We'd like to remind you that even after your subscription ends, you can still do the following:

  • Create documents with LegalZoom form templates and download them for free (no edit capability)

  • Access all the electronically signed documents in your account under Documents > eSignature.

Is there a refund policy if I cancel my Forms & eSign plan?

Our paid Forms & eSign plans fall within our 30-day LZ Guarantee. If you have purchased one of our Forms & eSign plans and are dissatisfied with the product, you may receive a full refund within 30 days of your purchase. Note that the LZ guarantee applies only to initial purchases and not renewals.

Pricing terms for eSignature Starter and eSignature Plus plan users

How do I purchase additional eSignatures once I’ve used up all in my current plan?

To get more eSignatures after using all the eSignatures in your plan, you'll need to renew your plan or purchase a new plan that better suits your eSignature needs. You can do this by logging into your LegalZoom account and clicking on the eSignature tab in the left menu. Click the plan name on the top of the page and check the different options.

Do eSignatures carry forward from one billing cycle to the next?

No. eSignature plans have an annual term and automatically renew. Any unused eSignatures remaining in your account at the end of the one-year term will expire and not carry forward. Similarly, if you choose to change your eSignature plan in the middle of your current plan’s billing cycle, any remaining eSignatures from your current plan will not be credited to the new plan.

Where can I find my eSignature plan and billing information?

After subscribing to the eSignature plan, you can find your plan and billing information in two ways:

  • Refer to your original confirmation email that contains your plan details, billing information, and receipt. 

  • Log in to your LegalZoom account and go to Documents > eSignature in the left navigation bar. From there, you can view your plan details in the top banner.

Do you count eSignatures based on the number of signers or based on the number of documents I send for electronic signature?

Your eSignature usage is calculated based on the number of documents you send for signature, not the number of signers. For example, you could send one document to five different signers, and this will count as only one eSignature towards your plan.

How are eSignatures consumed in my plan?

Every time you send a document for eSignature, you consume one eSignature from your plan. This is true even if the signer does not ultimately sign the document for any reason, including:

  • The email was undelivered due to an incorrect email address; 

  • The signer declines to sign;

  • The signer takes no action on the document and it expires; or

  • The signer requests changes, therefore, requiring the sender to send another version;

  • The sender deletes the document.

Make sure to keep track of your remaining eSignatures under your plan to avoid running out unexpectedly.

What is the refund policy if I want to cancel my subscription?

Our paid eSignature plans fall within LegalZoom’s 30-day LZ Guarantee. If you have purchased one of our eSignature plans and are dissatisfied with the product, you may receive a full refund within 30 days of your purchase. Plans with greater than five eSignatures used will denote satisfaction and not be eligible for refunds.

How can I stop my eSignature plan from auto-renewing?

To stop your eSignature plan from being auto-renewed, you can cancel your subscription before your renewal date by calling us at (800) 773-0888 Mon-Fri 5 a.m.-7 p.m. PT, Sat-Sun 7 a.m.-4 p.m. PT or emailing us at e-sign@legalzoom.com including the phrase “Cancel my Forms & eSign subscription”. Make sure to either send the email from the address associated with your LegalZoom account or include that email address in the body of the email itself.

Note that even if you cancel, you can still have access to all the signed documents in your account under Documents > eSignature.
